When we founded Inside Out in 1994, our stated goals were to build and embrace the individual character, to encourage stewardship of the earth and one's community, and to foster a deep respect for one's self and one another. After fourteen remarkable years, not only do these goals still resonate with us, but our belief in the value of experiential education has strengthened.

We have a passion for our work and are committed to creating programs that will leave participants with a sense of accomplishment, learning, adventure, and bonding. Whether the program is a few hours, one day, or multiple days – whether the primary focus is teambuilding, the environment, curriculum-based, backpacking, high-adventure, or just plain fun – and whether the program is for a school, church, company, family, or any other organized group – the benefits are the same: Inside Out programs encourage individuals to try new things, take risks, be responsible and compassionate, consider the environment, and embrace the world.

Our success thus far is the success of many, and can be attributed, in large part, to all of those who have supported us, and worked with us, and believed in Inside Out year after year – teachers, participants, staff, families of all involved, and many, many friends. Our thanks and appreciation to all of you!

Martha, Monica, and Vic all have many years of field experience between them – excluding all of the years with Inside Out. All three received BA degrees and worked with various summer camp outdoor programs during their college years, and prior to Inside Out, all three had field and administrative experience with other companies.

OUR PROGRAM STAFF
Inside Out staff members are a combination of many things. They are facilitators, educators, and outdoor enthusiasts. They are rock climbers, paddlers, artists, naturalists, backpackers, story tellers, and experts in many other areas. They are adept teachers, and above all, have a love for children and the learning opportunities that experiential education brings. Along with Inside Out's staff training, Basic First Aid and CPR are standard requirements. In addition, many of our staff hold more advanced rescue and medical training certificates, as well as certifications in specialized high-adventure activities, and degrees in related curriculum fields. Inside Out and its staff are dedicated to the care and preservation of the environment. Participants learn environmental ethics, low impact camping skills, and about the values of good stewardship.
